This paper reports results of international multicentre non-interventional clinical study of the effectiveness and safety of ascoril expectorant for the treatment of cough in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The study included 16312 patients examined in different cities during 2011-2012. It showed that ascoril expectorant (Glenmark) at a standard dose is an effective agent for the treatment of cough in children above 3 years and adults aged up to 78 years with ARVI and acute bronchitis, exacerbation of these conditions or grade I-II chronic obstructire pulmonary disease. Most patients reported good therapeutic effect within 1 day after intake. Ascoril expectorant caused no adverse reactions and was well tolerated by the patients. 91% of the attending physicians describe the drug as highly effective.

Gentamicin distribution in some tissues of the abdominal cavity one hour after the intralymphovasal and intranodular administration to 32 rabbits was studied. The experiments were performed under conditions of the blocking and external drainage of the thoracic lymphatic duct. It was found that the optimal bacteriostatic concentrations were reached at both intralymphovasal and intranodular administration.

Through local stimulation of various structures of medulla oblongata a centrogenic bronchial spasm was simulated in acute tests on cats. A peripheral bronchial spasm was reporduced by stimulating the peripheral length of the vagus. An experimental bronchial spasm caused by activation of reticular nuclei and of a single fascicular nucleus halidor suppressed with doses half as large as the ones needed to inhibit the peripheral spasm. An application of halidor to the ground of the fourth ventricle tended to immediately lessen the intensity of the bronchial spasm, this suggesting a central component in the action of the drug.

The distribution of monomycin (15 mg/kg intramuscularly) in the blood serum and organs of mature, old and young rats was studied in the agar diffusion test. Bact. pumelis was used as test microorganism. The good absorption of this antibiotic into blood was revealed and its accumulation in high concentrations in the kidneys of animals of all ages, that conditions to a certain degree the nephrotoxicity of the preparation. Its accumulation in the organs and release from them is quicker in young rats than in mature and old ones. According to monomycin concentration, the organs were distributed in the following descending order: kidneys-liver-lungs-spleen.
